Romantic Getaways

Victoria Falls is a popular destination to pop the question, get married or just escape the rat race for a romantic getaway. The trick is knowing which place will fit the bill.

The areas surrounding the Falls have been kept relatively pristine and there are many small lodges that are tucked away into the bush or overlook the Zambezi River that offer luxurious intimate accommodation.

These places get our romantic escape ‘thumbs up’. Be sure to check out our Victoria Falls packages for the latest deals.

Sussi and Chuma has to be one the most romantic places on the Zambezi River. This is a modern take on bush luxury and in our experience even the fussiest towny will love the elegantly decorated chalets and supurb food that the Sanctuary Lodges group consistantly delivers.

The Elephant Camp on the outskirts of Victoria Falls town is the new kid on the block so to speak, but if you are looking for bells and whistles this camp will absolutely deliver for you. Firstly the rooms, rather tented chalets, are a a delight and comprise of a bedroom, lounge area and a bathroom. You will find snacks waiting for you on arrival in the lounge and a fully stocked mini bar (included in the rate)
The bathroom has a bath with a view plus you get inside and outside showers and a small private plunge pool. Jonathan, the camp manager, goes to huge lengths to make your stay memorable. What more can we say?

The Victoria Falls Hotel is the only hotel that makes the romantic grade in our opinion. At over 100 years old the whole hotel exudes colonial elegance and a more romantic era. The rooms are in the process of a soft refurb and the main areas are cool and graciously decorated. The bathrooms are a bit dated compared to more modern establishments but the authentic colonial atmosphere and wonderful staff will win over even the hardened of hearts. Dress up for dinner at The Stanley Room and pop the question over a glass of bubbly. The answer will definitely be ‘yes’!
