SINDABEZI ISLAND - LIVINGSTONE
The only island lodge on the Upper Zambezi River , Sindabezi is a small island 3 kms downstream from its sister lodge, Tongabezi. Access to the island is by way of motorised boat or canoe. The camp is simple, consisting of four simple reed and thatch chalets, each having its own hot bucket shower & flush loo. The bird life is rewarding – there is a resident Pel's fishing owl or you may be lucky enough to spot an African Finfoot. This is a great way to experience the Africa of old, but definitely not for those who need hairdryers as standard. - The island is fully staffed
- All the chalets have field phones for room service!
- Elephants sometimes visit the island and hippos are seen regularly
- No electricity. Candles and paraffin lamps are the order of the day
- Activities include sunrise and sunset boat trips, afternoon canoeing, fishing, bird walks
- Rates are fully inclusive of meals, drinks and activities
